Where to start and what to think? Countertops used to be a very simple thing, you had a choice of laminate or laminate, and if that was too much, you only had a handful of colors to think about. Today the choices can be overwhelming. You have thousands of colors of laminate to chose from, and the days of the simple cap and cove backsplash are gone. More on backsplashes later, lets stick to the countertops for now. We offer preform laminate (a seamless front edge design and seamless backsplash design) in a variety of edge options from a simple no drip to fancy ogee edge options and choices in between. We can do custom square edge laminate and dress up with wood edges or laminate bevel edges in any depth desired. You can move into our solid surfaces (some call it Corian) which offer repair ability, beautiful color choices and unmatched performance. Tired yet? Don't be because we haven't even started in on the stone products. Stone countertops (generally called Granite) mined throughout the world offer hundreds of color choices, styles and patterns. If your scared of the potential staining of natural granite, we also offer Engineered Stone (also called Quartz) in a multitude of colors. Just like Laminate, in Solid Surface, Granite and Quartz you can chose from many different edge profiles to establish a unique look to your countertop.
Now that you have some things to start thinking about in countertops, let's discuss backsplash choices. In any case where water is present, we highly recommend that you do something for backsplash as water will ruin drywall over time and in the case of laminate water on exposed backer material can cause the countertop to fail. In preform laminate many people opt for the integrated cove backsplash, which is the typically the most economical option. However in cases where custom fitting is necessary on preform laminate or if you chose square edge laminate, you can also do a simple square edge set-on splash, tile or laminate. As you move into solid surface countertops you can have set-on backsplashes to any height desired, and integral cove backsplash, or tile are your typical choices. In stone products (Granite or Quartz) the typical options are either the 3cm material cut to height desired, granite tiles 1cm to match or any other tile desired. When choosing a tile for backsplash, popular choices are doing a brick design (if small tiles), set them on a diagonal, custom inserts, and many other options your imagination can create.
